Australia falls short 3 MILLION doses of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, authorities point finger at EU — RT World News

Department of Health Secretary Brendan Murphy says the TGA is meeting regularly this week to review data from around the world about the possibility of blood clots connected to the AstraZeneca vaccine. “There has been some attention related to this issue with clots potentially associated with the AstraZeneca vaccine, and clearly, there's been the reports of a possible case in Australia," he said. Last week a 44-year-old Melbourne man presented to Box Hill hospital with a fever and abdominal pain a number of days after receiving the vaccine and was found to have blood clots. Mr Murphy said Australian health authorities are working closely with their European counterparts to analyse the data coming out after millions of doses had been administered across Europe and the UK. "That's what's going to give us the true picture of whether this is a real problem, and whether it has any significance," he said. “So our expert advisory panel, the TGA, they're meeting regularly this week. “We're having a joint meeting with the Europeans and with the UK regulators and we are taking this matter very seriously at the moment. “Our regulator and our ATAGI are advising we continue with our program - that the benefit of vaccination outweighs any potential risk. “But we are continually reviewing the situation”.
